  • Contact iSafe to determine what training was delivered. Arrange for quarterly reports.
  • Library Office is going to weave in Cyber Safety skills into their benchmarks.
    • Barbara Stripling will lead
  • Principal’s Weekly - Cyber Safety
    • Info about the importance of designating a Cyber Safety Lead and contact info in principals weekly for OPE, SLS, and OIT to arrange for a CS trainer along with information indicating that they must be able to allocate per session/per diem funds.
      • Susan and Lisa will collaborate with others to submit an item
  • Websites
    • OIT
      • Link from OIT’s site in Cyber Safety class
        • This will include info similar to the PW item
    • Library
      • Principal’s Corner
      • Barbara will write an item about the importance of CS and info how to have CS training at their school along with additional links. This may look similar to the CS item in PW.
    • Office of Parent Engagement
      • We will provide them with the PW item as well as info about what OIT and SLS site includes so that they can include info on their site (and in their brochure).
  • Cyber Safety PD throughout the summer
    • Info on this included in the Principal's Weekly item
  • Cyber Safety PD throughout the school year offered by Library Services and OIT
    • Barbara and Lisa will schedule and share in the Fall
  • iSafe – Video tape assembly?
    • They do not have a video of the assembly. We need to find out if this can be done.
  • Back-to-School parent handbook should incorporate some of the type of information below:
    • Susan will follow up re including info that will contain:
      • How parents can contact their parent coordinator to arrange for cyber safety training through parent support officers by contacting Natasha Howard.
      • Send Karen the blurb in the parent handbook
        • She will provide other contacts to reach out to i.e. Netsmartz
      • Should have a place parents can go if they have an issue with Cyber Safety
        • Karen may have this info
  • How can we ensure that each school has an iSafety Officer?
    • Susan will look into this
      • Can we bring this to the attention of the Deputy Chancellor?
      • Can we get this into principal’s weekly? How often?
        • Item is being submitted to PW
      • School Safety Officers/Health? Probably not?
      • Should we suggest the librarian and alternate if they do not have someone fulfilling this role.
      • Perhaps SLS could promote this concept on their website and conferences
      • We can also use the existing survey monkey data to support this.
  • Make videos with someone like “ReelWorks” or after school media types
    • Karen will take the lead on this

      • Answer from i-Safe: Updating our materials is an ongoing process. We advise our members in the i-SAFE newsletters. We also send blasts to the entire education member base when new Professional Development or Curriculum is released.
  • Meet w/iSafe again to see if they could do video
    • Karen will take the lead on this
